Agency’s new electro-mechanical firefighting equipment is first of its kind in the Middle East
The UAE Civil Defence will display some of its advanced mechanisms, technologies and assets for rescue operations during the 5th International Security & National Resilience (ISNR) Exhibition & Conference Abu Dhabi. Held under the patronage of H.H. General Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces with the full support of the UAE Ministry of Interior, theMiddle East’s definite homeland security event will run from March 19 to 21, 2012 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.
Some of the rescue equipments owned by the UAE Civil Defence are unique to theMiddle East, such as its next-generation electro-mechanical firefighting hose maintenance equipment. This reflects the agency’s commitment to constantly build up its emergency response capabilities. Civil Defence also uses a specialized 4×4 off-road firefighting and rescue vehicle, a telescopic lumbar rescue stretcher for rescue and recovery from building stairways, basement and storage area firefighting systems, and a triple-boom 55-metre firefighting and rescue aerial ladder platform (ALP). These will all be displayed at ISNR Abu Dhabi 2012 along with a working model for real-time monitoring systems. The UAE Civil Defence will conduct live demonstration of a rapid rope helicopter rescue as well.

Events such as these are vital to consolidating and enhancing the emergency preparedness and response, crisis management, and resilience and security platforms for professional workers in the Civil Defence,” said Major General Rashid Thani Al Matrooshi, Acting Commander General of UAE Civil Defence.
